OptiForest S.A. was created in 1994 as a company oriented to providing services on applied economics techniques to facilitate optimal forestry/agroforestry project management planning.

​

For about a decade, Optiforest S.A. opted for consultancies in sustainable rural development and forestry economics research projects in Central America, through international institutions such as the World Bank, GEF, UNDP, FAO, IUCN, IDB, GTZ, COSUDE, CATIE, as well as teaching at UNA, ITCR, UNED, UVeritas and UHispanoamericana, capitalizing on vast experience in forest/agroforestry economics, econometrics, plantation forestry, conservation and participatory rural development, characterization and management of environmental conflicts, education (forest economics, ecology, computing applied to forest management decision-making), as well as attention and guidance of academic and eco-cultural tourism, promoting the rational and sustainable use of natural resources.

​​From its creation, but mainly since 2012, OptiForest emphasizes its attention to the market of investment valuation services for forestry/agroforestry plantations and production chains, mainly with private financing, for which economic efficiency is a preponderant objective.

In this context, Optiforest, S.A. resumes its original emphasis of promoting the highest levels of economic efficiency of forestry/agroforestry investments, facilitating access and application of customized tools for decision support in the administration of forestry/agroforestry projects.

We visualize ourselves as a company that strengthens the installed capacity of its clients, through technical-professional coaching services aimed at controlling and improving the quality of their forestry/agroforestry inventory systems, their econometric research efforts (growth/yield models), their storage and data processing technologies, and mainly through the establishment of timely systems for intelligent analysis of their information for decision making aimed at the optimal management of their forestry/agroforestry resource base.
